How does Ultraformer III Treatment Works? 

The skin consists of three essential layers. The first is the superficial dermis, followed by the deeper dermis and the SMAS layer. The SMAS layer connects your skin to the deeper structures such as the muscle. 

As we age, the structures that keep the skin strong and youthful start to weaken. This is mostly because collagen and elastin levels start to lessen, which affects the underlying structures. The result is wrinkled skin with a lack of youthful contours. The Ultraformer system addresses skin sagging and ageing at all three levels. 

The benefits of Ultraformer sessions show up gradually over the course of several months. The skin needs time to heal and create stronger structures in order for you to see a noticeable difference. After a month or two, patients experience tighter, more toned skin, with the results lasting up to six months. 

Ultraformer results occur in two phases following your session: 

Expect an immediate tightening of your skin in the treatment area. This is due to the heat, which contracts the underlying network of collagen fibres. Strands of collagen shrink when exposed to heat, which is what creates this tightening effect. 

The HIFU energy also stimulates other cells in the treatment area, including fibroblasts. These cells are responsible for creating new, stronger collagen fibres. This effect takes place over several months, which is why the results appear slowly and gradually.

During and immediately after the treatment 

The Ultraformer system is able to produce less pain due to its rapid shot technology. It also helps increase treatment time and produces little to no side effects. The result is a quick lunchtime treatment that doesn’t require time off work. Mild redness and swelling across the treatment areas is common but won’t last longer than a day or two. Temporary bruising and numbness are also possible but not as common. 

Are the results long-lasting? 

After six to nine months, your Ultraformer HIFU results will peak, but this is different for every patient. The new collagen will be stronger and offer better support to your skin. When the skin is more supported, it naturally lifts and tightens your appearance, making you look much younger and healthier.
